About Wauwwood
Wauwwood is a one-person joinery in the heart of Jutland building bespoke solid-wood furniture: plank tables, desks, cabinets and commercial pieces for offices and restaurants. Over 150 pieces delivered, every one built by the same pair of hands.
The Challenge
Handmade furniture sells on feel, and a grid of product photos does not carry that. Wauwwood needed a site that felt as considered as the work itself, showed the full range of pieces without turning into a catalogue, and still ranked for the Danish terms people actually search: plankebord, spisebord i egetræ, møbelsnedker.
What We Built
We built the site in Next.js around a single idea: let the craft do the talking. The homepage opens on a scroll-driven video hero of wood being worked that expands into the portfolio as you scroll. A horizontal showcase presents selected pieces, and a dedicated "Mit Arbejde" page renders the whole body of work as an interactive 3D sphere of images built with Three.js, with a masonry gallery behind it for the detail. The story page walks through the workshop's timeline from garage to 180 m² værksted, and every page carries Danish, keyword-mapped copy, Open Graph metadata and a clear path to a first conversation.
The Results
- A brand experience that matches the craft: video hero, 3D portfolio sphere and editorial layout instead of a product grid
- Perfect Lighthouse scores for SEO and best practices, with zero layout shift and a 1.0 second first contentful paint
- Every page written in Danish for the terms customers search, from plankebord to møbelsnedker
- The full body of work is browsable in one place, and every piece leads to the same simple contact flow
