Steps
- 01Run the absence test. Ask what happens to your operation if you are genuinely unreachable for 10 working days. If the answer is that things fall apart, your business runs on you, not on systems.
- 02Trace each function of the business and ask whether a system or a person runs it. If it is a person, check whether they have a framework to follow. Without one, they cannot run it without you.
- 03Run the launch audit. Work out what percentage of your last launch leads received structured follow-up within 72 hours. If you cannot produce that number, you do not have a system. In our own audits of coaching businesses, 40 to 60% of launch leads get no structured follow-up in that window (our figure, not a published study).
- 04Run the retention signal audit. Check whether you have a mechanism, not a feeling, that spots a client disengaging before they cancel. By the time they cancel it is too late, and discounts or extra one-on-ones will not win them back.
- 05Look at your onboarding. A client's first day and first week shape how they see the rest of the program. Automate the structure so the founder does nothing after purchase, but the new client still feels they bought something significant.
- 06Check for the rebuild tax. If every launch costs you the same energy as the last, nothing is compounding. Document the important things and the frameworks you coach so each launch gets easier. Do not just duplicate content.
