I reverse engineered every major practice management system - Here's what I found.
We tested nine practice management systems with free tools like Chrome DevTools and BuiltWith, and most failed basic modern web standards. Here is how to audit the software you use today.
Audit yours
- Skill needed
- Bit techy
- Setup time
- 15 min
- Cost
- Free
- Time saved
- Spots slow, unsafe software early
Steps
- 01Copy your software's web address into BuiltWith to see what it is built on.
- 02Paste that technology data into ChatGPT and ask it to point out anything outdated or risky.
- 03Open Chrome DevTools on the pages you use most and check how long they take to load and how many scripts they pull in.
- 04Ask your vendor for their API documentation and a recent security audit report.
- 05Test it on your phone and time your most common tasks yourself, so your clients are not the ones who tell you.
- 06Know the red flags: 10 plus second load times, no API for integrations, heavy ad tracking on a platform that holds sensitive data, support for old Internet Explorer, jQuery older than 3.7.1 and Bootstrap older than 5.0.
- 07If it fails, move to a vendor that gets it right, or have a system built that you own.
